hlymia

Exhibition view of the biotech installation Hlymia. It's a diptych in two sleek black frames. On the left there are the artist's hair and three glass sculptures. On the right, a scientific diagram indicating the population of lymphocytes extracted from the artist's body. The artist has pierced the dots indicating the cells causing her psoriasis wiht metal needles. The diptych plays with materiality, sensoriality and different kinds of knowledge. Skin, metal pins, hair, soft textures and piercing spikes, unruliness and high-dimensional precision evoke enigmatic molecular behavior and the feeling of unrest linked to the condition.

lament

Berlin-based artist Margherita Pevere before the start of the performance Lament. She appears as a posthuman tentacular being with limbs replaced by burnt barks and striking red tentacles. Small glass sculptures hang above her and contain soil microbes, charcoal, and moss which she sampled in wildfire areas.

wombs

Artwork exploring possible molecular encounters across different species. The work in the photograph is the first chapter of the series. It is an oval heart-like glass sculpture containing bacterial culture, microbial biofilm and the artist’s urine extract on a black background. It is an artworks that joins arts and science with a queer lens by Italian artist Margherita Pevere based in Berlin.
